On 4th April 2019, NATO will mark the 70th anniversary of the signing of the North Atlantic Treaty. This same year, Romania will mark the 15th anniversary of its joining the Alliance. To help communities from NATO member and partner countries celebrate its existence, the Public Diplomacy Division of NATO has launched a unique NATO@70 call for project proposals.
“The aNATOmy of an Alliance” is an educational project proposed by “Nicolae Bălcescu” Land Forces Academy Sibiu, Romania, and selected by the Public Diplomacy Division of NATO as part of the much larger anniversary project, NATO@70. The aim of the project is to effectively cover an inter-generational and MIL-CIV transfer of knowledge in order to raise public awareness and support for NATO and build positive attitudes related to NATO and its culture. Through the activities of this five-stage project (February – December 2019) we envisage to enlarge individual and collective knowledge about NATO outside traditional NATO frameworks and to foster positive attitudes towards NATO culture and the military.
