Nine cadets from “Nicolae Balcescu” Land Forces Academy of Sibiu, accompanied by Assoc. Prof. Brândușa-Oana Niculescu, PhD, responded to the invitation of the Faculty of Letters and Arts of “Lucian Blaga” University of Sibiu (ULBS) to participate in the Translation Contest for students, an event that has become a tradition and is now in its fifth edition.
Our students competed alongside their fellow philologists, translators and interpreters from ULBS, and achieved very good results. In the English Language section, cadet sergeant Vlad-Adrian Pop, under the coordination of Assist. Prof. Diana Anneliese Sopon, PhD, won the third prize: “It is said that English is a language that unites. This competition has not only helped us to discover our potential, but also to strengthen the relations between us and our colleagues at the ULBS.”
Cadet Ștefania Suciu, under the guidance of Assist. Prof. Daniela-Elena Duralia, PhD, obtained an honourable mention in the French language section. This is Stefania’s first time participating in such a competition and she says that the experience has been a perfect opportunity to make the most of the knowledge she has acquired so far, but also to go beyond her limits: “My work has come to life in such a beautiful way and the emotions I have experienced have motivated me to do my best, convinced that this is only the beginning!”
Congratulations to all the winners and participants!
