Today, August 10, 2024, a delegation led by the Commander of the Portuguese Land Forces, LTG. Rui Manuel da Silva Ferreira conducted a working visit at “Nicolae Bălcescu” Land Forces Academy of Sibiu.
Along with the distinguished guests, the activity was attended by representatives of the General Staff of the Romanian Land Forces, led by BG Ovidiu Lungu, commander of the 1st Maneuver Support Brigade.
The event began with the information briefing of the commandant of the academy, BG Prof.Eng. Ghiţă Bârsan, PhD, who presented the key elements that represent the foundation of our institution’s educational programme. It then continued with a tour of the facilities where the future commanding officers of the Romanian Land Forces and of other beneficiaries from the national defence system, public order and national security are trained.
“It is a great privilege to visit “Nicolae Bălcescu” Land Forces Academy of Sibiu, an institution that contributes to the education and training of the military personnel of the Romanian Army and which plays an essential role in the training of future officers able to face the changes that the army has experienced over time”, wrote the commander of the Portuguese Land Forces, LTG. Rui Manuel da Silva Ferreira, in the Guest Book of “Nicolae Bălcescu” Land Forces Academy after the activity.
