Representatives of “Nicolae Balcescu” Land Forces Academy of Sibiu participated, between 19-23.06.2023, in the Multiplier Event within the “Military Gender Studies” Erasmus+ cooperation project and in the 5th Gender Seminar, events.
The activities hosted by the Military Academy of Lisbon, Portugal, brought together representatives of the project’s partner institutions: “Nicolae Balcescu” Academy of Land Forces of Sibiu, Romania, the University of Turin, Italy and “Vasil Levski” National Military University from Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria, as well as other representatives of several military academies in Europe.
The events were presided over by the Minister of Defense of Portugal, Mrs. Helena Carreiras, and the Portuguese Chief of the Defense Staff, General Eduardo Mendes Ferrao.
The aim of the “Military Gender Studies” project is to develop a model of military gender studies, designed specifically to be taught in European military higher education institutions, by developing a handbook on gender mainstreaming and gender topics.
Also, the 5th Gender Seminar brought together 70 experts and observers from Europe and the USA, interested in addressing and implementing military gender studies in military academies.
