From 8 to 19 of May, the Military Leadership module, part of the International Semester, is taking place at the "Nicolae Balcescu" Land Forces Academy of Sibiu.
This year, 43 students from our institution, from the second year of studies at the Faculty of Military Sciences, specializing in Military Leadership, and 60 foreign students from civil or military higher education institutions from Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, Georgia, Latvia, Lithuania, Italy, Republic of Moldova, Poland, USA and for the first time Great Britain, are attending this module.
The aim of the module is to facilitate the understanding of the specificity of leadership in the military organization, the development of specialized skills of future military leaders, the improvement of critical thinking, but also the knowledge, understanding and application of decision-making procedures in the military organization, in different contexts.
This year, Mr. Peter White and Lt. Col. James Askew, from Land Warfare Center, Great Britain, participated in the module as instructors. The British officers brought to the attention of the students issues regarding the particularities of the decision-making process in the military organization (Combat estimate) and the importance of understanding cultural particularities for the successful accomplishment of missions in different theatres of operations (Cultural awareness).
