The "Nicolae Balcescu" Land Forces Academy of Sibiu is hosting the ninth edition of the International Military Academic Forum (iMAF) from 13 to 16 June, an event that was born out of the desire to create and deepen a European security and defence culture by ensuring the highest possible standards of education for military students and young officers, in the context of the new challenges of the international environment.
This year`s edition is attended by 57 representatives from 14 countries (Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Greece, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Romania and the United States of America), who are debating issues related to the training of future officers and finding viable solutions to increase the number of exchanges of students and young officers between military higher education institutions.
iMAF is a project initiated by the representatives of the Theresan Military Academy in Wiener Neustadt - Austria, to which representatives of the Defence University in Brno - Czech Republic, the Military University of Land Forces in Wroclaw - Poland, the National University of Public Services in Budapest - Hungary and the Academy of Land Forces in Sibiu - Romania have been co-opted since 2014. Currently, this international discussion forum has 22 partners.
