International Student Week at LFA
From 04.04.2022 to 08.04.2022, the "Nicolae Balcescu" Land Forces Academy of Sibiu organized the International Student Week, in which participated together with students of our institution 30 cadets and military officers from the following institutions: the "Vasil Levski" National Military University in Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria, the National Defence Academy in Gori, Georgia, the National Defence Academy in Riga, Latvia, the "Alexandru cel Bun" Armed Forces Academy in Chisinau, Republic of Moldova, the University of Studies in Turin, Italy and the University of North Georgia in Atlanta, USA.
The week started with the presentation held by the students of our institution regarding the study programs which are carried out in the Land Forces Academy "Nicolae Balcescu" in Sibiu, the teaching, scientific research, military training, sports and recreational facilities of the institution and the educational offer available for international students and cadets. Each delegation also presented its institution and its educational offer to the partner and discussions were held on how they train and prepare themselves at the universities they come from.
The participants were involved in some sports activities, with individual and team games such as table tennis, handball, basketball, football, swimming or chess, as well as other activities, covering the cultural and recreational side, since the aim was to develop the interest of the guests for the traditions, culture and customs of the Sibiu area and beyond. Thus, activities dedicated to visiting the city of Sibiu, excursions to the Alba Iulia Fortress and the Huniazilor Castle were also organized.
To complement the experience of the international students, participants attending the International Students' Week also presented papers for the international student conference - SECOSAFT 2022.
The main aim of this event is to develop a better cooperation between institutions, in order to facilitate student exchanges.
