The start of the NATO project "Investments in a Safer Future", at the Land Forces Academy
The NATO project „Investments in a Safer Future”, which joins the Land Forces Academy of Sibiu, the New Strategic Center and the West University of Timisoara, has started today with a short presentation of the aims, objectives and workshop strategy for the event that will take place in Timisoara, on December, 11, when the military students will become information vectors for their civilian colleagues. The Chief of the Romanian Land Forces Staff, Maj Gen Iulian Berdila, attended the opening ceremony.
During the activity, the LFA students were informed about the importance and neccessity of a correct dissemination of information regarding the actions of the member states of the Alliance. Furthermore, the participants addressed topics such as disinformation and fake news and their far-reaching negative impact on democracy, world peace, trust in NATO and the good functioning of the organization.
The organization of the event was adapted to the currect pandemic situation, and all health protection and physical distancing measures were respected.
