At the end of the ceremony, the “Gaudeamus” student anthem was played, and the students and military personnel
On Tuesday, October 1st, The “Nicolae Balcescu” Land Forces Academy marked the opening of the 2019-2020 academic year on the parade ground of the institution. The event started with the welcoming of the Commander of the Land Forces Operational Component and the deputy chief of the General Staff of the Land Forces, MG Dorin Blaiu, PhD, by the rector of the academy, BG prof.eng. Ghita Barsan, PhD, and continued with the officiating of the religious service, the speeches of the rector of the academy, the representative of the first year students and of the guests present at the event.
At the end of the ceremony, the “Gaudeamus” student anthem was played, and the students and military personnel paraded on the music of the military band of the Sibiu garrison.
The activity was attended by the 892 students of the academy and commanders of the structures of the Defense System, Public Order and National Security, local public authorities, former rectors of the institution, and students’ parents, relatives and friends.
A similar ceremony took place in the Big Square of Sibiu, where the members of our academic community joined the ones from the “Lucian Blaga” University to celebrate the beginning of the new academic year.
