Through hard work, ambition and perseverance, Second-Lieutenant Ariadna-Ecaterina Guta built her way to performance, becoming the valedictorian of the "Nicolae Balcescu-200" generation of the "Nicolae Balcescu" Land Forces Academy of Sibiu. The thought of pursuing a military career occurred to her at the age of 10, when, attending the swearing-in ceremony of her brother, who is a graduate of our institution, she was fascinated by the military uniform. Growing up, her goal remained the same: to become an officer of the Romanian Army. A native of the town of Rovinari, the Gorj County, Ariadna graduated from the "Ecaterina Teodoroiu" National College of Targu Jiu, completing her high school studies with an average of 10 at the baccalaureate exams. She continued to be ambitious, she trusted her qualities and she always expressed her desire to know, to learn constantly.
"Shortly after the baccalaureate exam, I was to face the biggest challenge until then, the admission to the Land Forces Academy. I was extremely nervous, it was my only option, I did not have another variant. I walked through the gates of the academy with writing tools, emotions that were running high and knowledge, managing to pass the entrance exam among the first. I had the highest score among the girls, "she told us.
During the three years at the academy, Ariadna wanted to accumulate experience, to learn as much as possible and to achieve the basis necessary for her success in the future military career. She was a member of the taekwondo and ski teams of the academy, she participated in four international mobilities within the Erasmus+ and Emilio programs, and, as a high-ranking cadet, she tried to pass on the knowledge and experience she had gained, helping her younger colleagues to adapt and to face challenges with ambition and courage.
"I will never forget the excitement I felt when I walked for the first time through the gate of the academy, the first friends I made and the first drill moves I learned. The environment that the Land Forces Academy created, the training and development opportunities I was offered, the teachers, the commanders, the instructors and the relationships with the colleagues have all contributed to my success. I always wanted to be among the good ones, so that, in the end, at the repartition, I could choose a position that would give me the opportunity to obtain a parachutist license. I did not expect to be a valedictorian, everything was the result of thorough training and personal ambition,” the young woman said.
Now, at the end of the three years of study, Ariadna wants to continue to improve her skills and to accumulate new knowledge in order to contribute further to the training of the future combatants and military specialists in the Romanian Army.
Congratulations Ariadna and good luck!
