IMAF 2019 – AN EFFICIENT COOPERATION IN EDUCATION OF THE ELITE
From the 20th to 23rd of May, 2019, a delegation of the "Nicolae Balcescu" Land Forces Academy,led by its rector, BG Prof. Eng. Ghita BARSAN, PhD is participating in the sixth edition of the International Military Academic Forum (iMAF) 2019, held in Reichenauan der Rax, Austria.
The main objective of the meeting is to identify common education opportunities leading to new ways of future cooperation in creating and deepening a common European security and defense culture by ensuring the highest standards of education specific to military students and young officers, in the context of the new challenges of the international environment.
iMAF is a project initiated by the representatives of the Theresan Military Academy in Wiener Neustadt – Austria in October 2013, at the end of the Line of Development (LOD) – 7 event held at the University of Defensein Brno – Czech Republic.The delegation of the Theresan Military Academy then proposed to the representatives of the hosts, of the General Tadeusz Kosciuszko Military Academy of the Land Forces in Wroclaw – Poland, of the National University of Public Service in Budapest – Hungary and of the Land Forces Academy of Sibiu – Romania to become partners in the development of this project.
After concluding the collaboration agreements, starting with 2014, iMAFhas been organized annually by the five institutions mentioned above.
The Delegation of the Land Forces Academy will take over, at the end of the meeting, the presidency of the forum and the responsibility of organizing the edition of 2020 in Sibiu.
