THE LFA FRESHMEN’S BALL 2018
The stage of the Liquid Club was for several hours a film set and all that because the 12 pairs of students who participated in the contest were the directors of their own films. They performed sequences of well-known films such as “The Beauty and the Beast”, “The Terminator”, “Peter Pan”, “The Pianist”, “Pirates of the Caribbean”, “Hulk” and others. Everything took place during the Land Forces Academy Freshmen’s Ball 2018, this year entitled "Movie Evening".
The cadets of the “Major General Nicolae Uscoi” cadet corps, the organizers of the event, prepared the freshmen who participated in the contest for the titles of Miss and Mister. Within the talent show the freshmen’s inventiveness, talents and skills were tested. During the evening, the pleasant atmosphere was maintained by the "Quo Vadis" satire and humour group, by the “Relentless” dance troupe, first-year cadet Cristina Corbeanu and, last but not least, folk singer Doru Ciobanu. One of the special guests of the evening was second lieutenant Marius Mircea, a former student of the academy and a member of the satire group, who gladly returned to delight us with a moment of stand up comedy.
The title of Miss LFA 2018 was won by cadet Oana Calotescu and the title of Mister LFA 2018 by cadet Liviu Nedelcu. The audience also voted for their preferences, and the Female and Male Oscar titles were won by Maria Bibire and Gavril Lazar.
All contestants received certificates of attendance and vouchers as a sign of appreciation for their efforts and for the way they presented themselves in front of the members of the jury. After the contest, the students continued the party in the same place, the Liquid Club, the party being a memorable one. The cadet corps is grateful to all those involved, students, military and civilian personnel and sponsors.
