Ceremonies dedicated to Nicolae Balcescu and Avram Iancu,the great politicians, theorists and leading militants of the 1848 generation
At the 166th anniversary of the passing out of the patron saint of the Land Forces Academy, the historian and revolutionary Nicolae Balcescu, and the unveiling of the statue of Avram Iancu, the Prefect General of the 1848 Revolution, on Thursday, November 29th, at the "Nicolae Balcescu" Land Forces Academy there took place military ceremonies dedicated to evoking the personalities of the two great politicians, theorists, and leading militants of the 1848 generation.
The events were organized in partnership with the "Avram Iancu" Cultural-Patriotic Society - the Sibiu Branch, the "Lucian Blaga" University and with Astra - the Transylvanian Association for Romanian Literature and the Romanian People's Culture.
The auditorium of our institution also hosted a symposium dedicated to the Centenary Year of the Great Union, an event that is part of the series of events dedicated to the anniversary of the National Day of Romania in Sibiu.
