Land Forces Academy at the Military Sports and Shooting Challenge
At the end of July, a delegation from the "Nicolae Balcescu" Land Forces Academy of Sibiu, consisting of two cadets and coordinated by LT Costel Toma, attended the second edition of the "Military Sports and Shooting Challenge". The event, organized by Helmut Schmidt University of Hamburg, brought together 11 teams composed of cadets and military staff from Germany, Belgium, Finland, Croatia, Lithuania, Poland, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic and Romania.
The four-day contest was a demanding one, both physically and mentally, with participants competing in several military-grade sports such as: a 12-kilometer march (fully equipped and carrying a 15-kilo Bergen), application-military routes, swimming, equipped in military outfit, orientation and firing with infantry equipment provided by the German army.
