On Thursday, June 14, cadets of the "Nicolae Balcescu" Land Forces Academy participated in the "Romania in NATO - 14 Years" conference, an information event under the #WeAreNATO Dome and organized with the support of the Land Forces Academy and "Lucian Blaga" University of Sibiu.
The conference was attended by representatives of the Ministry of National Defense, NATO structures in Romania, the "Nicolae Balcescu" Land Forces Academy and the "Lucian Blaga" University, together with local public authorities. Brigadier General Joseph D'Costa (US Army), the Deputy Director of Joint Force Development of the Joint US Army Staff participated from NATO.
The event was an opportunity for the young participants to understand the functioning of the NATO military-political body as well as the joint involvement of the armed forces in the operations and exercises conducted under this aegis. At the same time, an exhibition of military technology and weapons was also organized.
Desiring to have a more in-depth knowledge of the training process of the the Land Forces officers from the Romanian Army, Brigadier General Joseph D'Costa also made a documentation visit to the Land Forces Academy. On this occasion, during the briefing of the commandant, the mission of our institution, the achievements and the objectives proposed to be fulfilled in the next period were presented. The meeting ended with visits to the laboratories, seminar rooms, auditoriums and sports facilities where the educational process takes place.
