The Land Forces Academy Team is Fighting at the Sibiu International Marathon for the Project "Letters from the Trenches"
A whole city runs for the better. For seven years, at the end of May, Sibiu has participated in a unique event, meant to help the community and inspire peers.
On May 26, the Land Forces Academy team will align 100 runners - cadets, military and civilian staff - into marathon, half marathon, cross-country and relay races. Next to them are coaches, commanders, teachers and anyone willing to join our SEMPER UNA!
We will make Sibiu shake. Our First Marathonist – cadet Sgt Petronela LUNGU, INVICTUS Romania 100 team led by cadet Cpl Răzvan CODRIN, the CHIC relay team from the academy library, rivals who have waited a year for this race, the hero of the Romanian military sport - SGM Francis Sharossi, the newcomers at the Land Forces Academy team, the outstanding athlete – cadet Cpl Alexandru ALUNGULESĂ, seven Greek cadets, and a group of 30 pre-school children who support the academy, will all fight for the glory of the day and the educational project "Letters from the Trenches", a journey in time in the trenches of the Great War.
The Land Forces Academy will also secure the last 12 Km of the marathon route , between Poplaca and Sibiu, with 30 volunteers who will help and respectfully applaud the modern athletes who rush towards victory.
