Leading positions for the Land Forces Academy cadets at the Military Cross Country Championship
Between 3-4 May, the sports team of the “Nicolae Balcescu” Land Forces Academy, consisting of Petronela Lungu, Alisa Glavan, Ilona Maria Socu, Alexandru Alungulesa, Razvan Codrin, Vasile Mihai-Matei, Ionel Birnicu and Tudor Ilade, took part in the Military Cross Country Championship, the final stage at the level of Ministry of National Defence. The best students of the military academies and the schools for warrant officers and non-commissioned officers, together with the representatives of the “Carol I” National Defence University participated in the competition held in Pitesti.
The males competed on a distance of 8 km and the females on a distance of 5 km. In the male competition, the first place was won by the students of our institution, followed by the students of the “Basarab I” Military School for WOs and NCOs Pitesti and the students of “Mircea cel Batran” Naval Academy Constanta. The female student Petronela Lungu won the second place, the same place was obtained by our female team. In the overall standings, LFA Sibiu ranked first.
