THE CENTENARY OF BESSARABIA'S UNION WITH ROMANIA

The centenary of Bessarabia's union with Romania was marked at Sibiu, on March 26 and 27, by means of many exhibitions and meetings organized by the "Nicolae Balcescu” Land Forces Academy in collaboration with The Transylvanian Association for Romanian Literature and Culture of the Romanian People, the Military Circle of Sibiu, the Astra Library of Sibiu, the "Lucian Blaga” University, Sibiu County Service of the National Archives, the "Regina Maria" National Association of Hero Cult and local public authorities.
The celebration dedicated to the anniversary of 100 years from the union of Bessarabia with Romania started on Monday, March 26, at the ASTRA Library with the exhibition "100 years from the Union of Bessarabia with Romania". The visitors could see signages and books regarding the historical context of the union. The exhibition can be visited till April 15.
The activities have continued on Tuesday, March 27, in the Main Hall of the Military Circle, with the "Union of Bessarabia with Romania. The First Step in the Creation of the Great Union" symposium. The event started with the local authorities delivering speeches, following the presentation of scientific papers.
