ASPECTS REGARDING THE ELECTROMAGNETIC COMPATIBILITY OF SOFTWARE DEFINED RADIOS
Paper published in the A.F.T. Magazine – CNCSIS CODE 328
The usage of Software Defined Radios (SDR) in a joint battlespace raises a series of problems regarding intra- and inter-system electromagnetic compatibility which have to be solved during the radio resources allocation stage. This paper presents the measurement methodology used for identifying the types of interferences and the relations between them according to the relative position in space, the operating frequencies used and the orthogonal characteristics of the antennas of two emitting sources with SDR characteristics, as well as the measurement results obtained. The same types of measurements were performed indoor and outdoor. In the near vicinity of the radio stations, the measurement results show the presence of strong interferences, their level being comparable with that of commercial radio stations for second and third order harmonics..
MILITARY COMMUNICATIONS CONCEPTS AND TECHNOLOGIES
Paper published in the A.F.T. Magazine – CNCSIS CODE 329
The huge leaps achieved by the communications and information technologies in the last years led to the occurrence of revolutionary ideas in the military domain. In the military area of interest occurred concepts as Network Centric Warfare (NCW), System of Systems (SoS), Future Combat System (FCS), Tactical Ad-hoc Network (TANET), Joint Tactical Radio System (JTRS), Software Defined Radios (SDR). This paper briefly describes these concepts, the programs and technologies associated to them and the technologies intended to be used for their implementation
A PERFORMANCE PREDICTION METHOD OF THE MILITARY PERSONNEL USING THE MULTI-CTITERIA ANALYSIS
Paper published in the A.F.T. Magazine – CNCSIS CODE 328
The paper proposes a simplified model for using the multi-criteria analysis in evaluating the performance of the human resources. It is based on an arborescent structure which allows highlighting the relevant criteria for the personnel’s profile. The model offers the possibility to create a database in order to monitor and predict performance from the perspective of efficiently using the human resources within an organization.
